Each morning a new door will open to help you savour the day and honour your sensitivities. Imagine opening a daily treat from now until December 25th that has been created just for you! Can we have a little heart to heart for a moment? You know all the things you always loved about the holidays? You can still have them. In fact, as a Sensitive Soul, you just might NEED them right now and so this is your official permission to make wherever you are comfortable and cozy. Between you and I, I am thinking that I might even give myself the things I always wanted at Christmas and rarely, if ever got. Yes I am on a plane right now, whisking away to Sedona… one of my home away from homes for a reboost and recharge, but most of what I wish for this time of year doesn’t cost a cent (ok except for the gingerbread house experience… gosh I have always wanted to make one of those!). For me, and most Empaths and HSPs, what we truly want is peace and comfort and joy, not things. (Cue Linus and his Christmas story.) What we seek is a balance of our four energetic bodies: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. When we are in alignment, we are peaceful and powerful. When we are in alignment we are home and safe wherever we are, no matter what is going on around us. Holiday Tip: Take time to get quiet and listen in to your wise self. You could choose to do this as a visualization or as a guided journal exercise. If you are journaling, you can make it extra juicy by asking the questions with your dominant hand and then change the pen over to your non-dominant hand to get your answers. It slows you down, letting you connect more deeply and giving your mind something to focus on. Drawing those letters ever so carefully like when you are younger, rather than editing your first thoughts, will get you some very surprising and helpful information! Begin with your Physical Energetic Body. Notice how it is feeling at this time. It has been so supportive of you all these years and may be wishing for a certain food or exercise or way to recharge so that you can move through the holiday season feeling solid and present. Then move to the Emotional Energetic Body and connect with the feelings there. Note whether they are yours or if you have become an energetic sponge and picked up another’s feelings. If there is peace, comfort and even joy there… YAY! If you would like more of those feelings this December, ask how you can best support that. Don’t be surprised if fuzzy pjs, hot cocoa, a heart to heart with a friend, or a walk in nature come up. Allow yourself to parent you in order to get what you need at this time. Now let’s go out to the Mental Energetic Body and notice how busy or quiet your mind is. Are there recurring thoughts that feel supportive, like helpful affirmations or dreams that you could take a small step towards today? If you find there is a thought niggling at you that could help you identify how to make the last 2 weeks of December rock, take time and explore that too! Having some thoughts that aren’t so helpful? Perhaps taking time to examine the ‘stinking thinking’ is in order. There are wonderful tools, like Byron Katie’s process called The Work, or you could book an Energetic Balancing session in person or long distance with me so that we can get you back on track and moving forward from a Soul Perspective. Finally, out into the Spiritual Energetic Body you go, in order to check how connected you are feeling on this level. Tapped into a sense of Unity Consciousness right now or feeling a bit disconnected? Perhaps some meditation, relaxation, and/or time with the traditions that are sacred to you at this time of year could be helpful. The thing to remember my friend, is that feeling safe and comfortable in the home of YOU, is available to you at any time. Whether it is December or deep in the heat of the summer, feeling comfortable in your physical body makes it easier to be a sensitive soul in a world that may not recognize how deeply you feel everything.
