”It’s also helpful to realize that this very body that we have, that’s sitting right here right now…with its aches and its pleasures…is exactly what we need to be fully human, fully awake, fully alive.” ~ Pema Chodron

Day two was about dialoging with the body and the importance of self-care.  The more you are aware of all four energetic bodies and the information they hold for you, the more you will come to understand the importance of self-care.

How did your body feel to you?  What sort of information did your body share when you connected to it yesterday?  Even more importantly, did you honour what your body asked for?  If you were tired, did you rest?  If you were craving exercise, did you walk, jog, dance?  Do you have a sense of what you may wish to include or exclude to help the body feel more comfortable?

Today you are invited to explore your relationship with your body in a very meaningful way.  I want you to be able to understand more profoundly how they way in which you treat it today, directly relates to how it responds and works with you.

Your physical body is your vehicle to do the work you have come to do.  It can allow you a fuller expression of your most authentic self.  This is why it is important to have a partner rather than adversary approach to it.

Exercise – Day Three

You are a unique body, with a unique purpose.  The ‘normal’ amount of food, water, sleep, exercise etc. that is purported by experts to suit the ‘average’ person, simply cannot be assumed to apply to you.  You are not average… no one is!

Today you will be your very own wellness expert.

From the moment you read this exercise, until the end of your day, you are invited to step back and watch one area of your choices with food, water, drink, exercise or rest.  Become the non-judgmental observer.  Note your choices, how you made it (unconscious/that’s what I always do versus checking/intuition/sense of what I need in this particular moment) and then how you felt.  Your chart could look something like this…

Observing Drink Choices

Physical energetic field  – Felt tired at mid-morning

Action – Had coffee

Decision process  –  Always have coffee  at break

Result  – Heart fluttered, boost of energy  followed by crash at 11:30

Remember to be gentle with yourself.  If you find the area you have chosen is stressful for you, you may wish to choose a different area, as what you are trying to do is become aware of how you respond to the sensations in your physical energetic body.  What you are observing is how you make your decisions, what sort of choices you are making and how they make you feel.  These awarenesses may help you discern what choices are supporting you feeling balanced, grounded and energized and what choices make it more difficult to stay centred during your day.

Affirmation- Day Three

I love myself; therefore I take loving care of my body. I feed it healthy, nutritious food and drink and exercise it in a way that feels good for me.   I honour and respect my body’s needs and enjoy good health now.

  • Funny….. I’m at physiotherapy as I’m reading this….. Pulled ligaments….. And yes it’s me! 🙂

  • I cannot emphasize the importance of your water intake.. And by water, I mean the purest, cleanest, filtered form you can find.. After oxygen, water is the most important thing your body needs. It even precedes food.. We are 75% water so the quality of it dictates how our body and mind will effectively function. City water has chlorine and other chemicals that affect the delicate bacteria flora we need to be healthy. So ask questions.. Get informed.. And enjoy the process of learning 🙂
