“The core of your
true self
is never lost.
Let go of all the
pretending and
the becoming
you’ve done just
to belong.
Curl up with your
rawness and come home.
You don’t have to
find yourself;
you just have to
let yourself in.”

Moving from our centre, from a balance of physical and spiritual concerns, we stay strong, confident and focused. We nurture ourselves and so are able to give to our loved ones, our careers and our communities without feeling depleted or resentful.

When we disconnect from who we are, we are easily distracted, become out of balance and have difficulty connecting to and meeting our own needs. Unconscious energetic merges most often happen when we are disconnected and our heart chakra is out of balance.

Two of the many blessings of being an Empath are the understanding of our true inter-connectedness and the value of living authentically.

Knowing we are all connected makes the Golden Rule, ‘Do unto others as you would have done unto you’, makes perfect sense!

Do you see where I am going with this? If loving and accepting all is the way we stay balanced and we are part of the all, then loving and accepting ourselves is important to becoming a healthy, happy person.

Simply put, practicing unconditional love and acceptance for all in each moment includes YOU! Isn’t it time you treated yourself as lovingly as you treat your dearest friend or loved one?

Exercise – Day Two

Today’s exercise is about forgiveness. It is time to drop the judgments of others and Self.

Reserve 15-30 minutes of quiet time to try this experience. Bring a sheet of paper and pen to a private spot where you will be uninterrupted for this exercise.

Sit comfortably and take a few moments to relax your body and quiet your mind. Notice how your heart feels. Become aware of any hurts that are being harboured in your heart at this time. (Perhaps there are some old resentments from you past, some judgments of others or yourself that are being held there, or some fears that are being projected into the future.)

Gently place your hands on your heart. Imagine a warm healing energy emanating from your hands sending love and light to your heart chakra. Send love and light to each of the issues you have uncovered. Then, when you feel ready, jot down the names of people or short descriptions of situations that you feel could be cleared through the act of forgiveness. (It is important to note that this process is not about condoning someone’s behaviour or an incident that has happened. Rather, forgiveness is about breaking the energetic hooks that create a victim consciousness when we hold resentment and hurt in our hearts. Breaking the energetic connection is a way to clear blocks being held in the emotional energetic body.) If you come across a situation you are not ready to forgive and release, that is fine. Choose one that you truly are ready to let go of for this exercise.

Below you will find the Forgiveness Prayer. Place the name of the person or situation in the blank spot and then say the prayer. It is important to do each of the 3 parts of the prayer. Most often we forget to release ourselves and that is so necessary to truly resolve any energetic block being held.

Forgiveness Prayer

__________, I freely and fully forgive you. I loose you and let you go to your good quickly and in peace. All is cleared up between us, now and forever more.

_________, you freely and fully forgive me. You loose me and let me go to my good quickly and in peace. All is cleared up between us, now and forever more.

I freely and fully forgive myself. I loose myself and let me go to my good quickly and in peace. All is balanced in me, now and forever more.

The Forgiveness Prayer is a wonderful tool for clearing away any resentments/issues left unresolved and clogging the energy in the heart chakra/emotional body. I recommend using it at least twice daily. You can write out the 3 phases of the prayer, say it quietly in your mind, or say it out loud. The latter is the most effective way of using the prayer because of the power of the spoken word.

First thing in the morning as you wake up and last thing at night when you are getting ready to go to sleep are very powerful times to do the Forgiveness Prayer because your mind is most receptive. As well, when catch yourself during the day as you suddenly move your awareness to a limiting thought about a situation or person, you can even do it right then and there. Imagine clearing a negative thought about the driver ahead of you in traffic, or about the slow line at the grocery store or about a grade school teacher who just popped into your mind! With the negative thoughts and feelings cleared from your energetic bodies, there is more room for fresh energy to flow and a real sense of connection and unlimited thinking.

My final suggestions about using this wonderful prayer are:

1) to repeat the phrases until you feel a shift in your energies in that moment and,

2) to regularly return to that prayer for the person or situation that you are practicing forgiveness with until you feel that you have truly cleared that energetic hook.

Watch how practicing compassion and forgiveness makes it much easier to remain grounded and connected. You are able to be present and focused in the now because you have released the worry of the past or fear about the future. Perhaps you have heard of the phrase, “The past is history. The future is a mystery. The gift is in the present.”

Affirmation- Day Two

My heart is my sanctuary. In this space, I share unconditional love and forgiveness with everyone, myself included. Practicing forgiveness brings me peace.
